Elm Grove Country House

Elm Grove has been the family home, and business, of the Rees family for over 65 years and is personally run by Jane & Alan Rees-Baynes

About Elm Grove Country House

Design and construction of Elm Grove started in the 1840’s and was completed in 1856. Over the last 150 years the house has been home to a range of owners including Sirs, Captains and Majors.

During World War II the main house also became home, and school, to a number of child evacuees from London - some of whom have been back to visit us and share their stories.

The Rees family bought Elm Grove in 1957 as a family home, but due to its size it quickly transformed into country house guest accommodation and has been run by 3 successive generations of the family. Currently well into it’s 6th decade of welcoming guests to this beautiful location, the house has played host to a wide range guests from walking and painting parties, classic car groups, couples and business travellers to families and well-known personalities.

To those of you who we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming before, we look forward to seeing you again soon.

For those of you looking for a relaxing stay in a beautiful location we look forward to seeing you at Elm Grove Country House.
