1. DESTINATION MARKETING

Promoting tourism businesses all year round through integrated marketing and PR activity. Our destination marketing strategy is focussed on building the Pembrokeshire brand, promoting our year-round offer, and highlighting the rich and diverse offer across the whole county. Our focus is on individual seasons and their distinctiveness in Pembrokeshire and promoting visits out of season. We’ve developed the Pembrokeshire Brand Toolkit - a resource for everyone helping to communicate what’s special about our county in a consistent and recognisable way. In addition, we collate monthly PR reports to identify coverage of Pembrokeshire in the media and new opportunities.

You will also have access to our marketing and PR resources. We have built up a broad contacts list and network which we use to tell Pembrokeshire stories and promote its businesses. We work with travel journalists, broadcasters and social media influencers to put Pembrokeshire in the media spotlight and raise awareness of Pembrokeshire as an all year round destination and inspire visits. 2. TOURISM LEADERSHIP & ADVOCACY

The representative voice of tourism locally, regionally and nationally, influencing policy and delivery. Visit Pembrokeshire offers members free access to networking events, invitations to trade and key events, discounted trade stand opportunities, industry advocacy and representation, free training opportunities and access to industry insights, trends and tourism data.

Where there are concerns regarding policy decisions that impact tourism our role is to gather feedback, facilitate conversations and lobby on your behalf. This is one of the many crucial ways in which we deliver on being ‘Stronger Together’ as the voice of tourism in Pembrokeshire. Examples topics of Visit Pembrokeshire’s advocacy role include the new 182 day rule and subsequent council tax premiums, the proposed visitor levy and the Pembstop trial 2023 (trial of motorhome parking in limited car parks).

3. INDUSTRY LIAISON & SUPPORT

Providing support to the tourism industry through networking, trade events & conferences. As a Visit Pembrokeshire member, you will be invited to attend a host of events throughout the year including free one-on-one marketing workshops, free bi-monthly networking events with guest speakers and venue/business spotlights, and free bi-monthly ‘Out & About’ drop in sessions.

Whether you need advice on how best to make your business more accessible, or help getting the right training, Visit Pembrokeshire can support you. Additionally the Visit Pembrokeshire team will be exhibiting at events and shows throughout the year to promote the county.

And finally, the highlight of the year. Members will have first access to the prestigious Visit Pembrokeshire Croeso Awards. These annual awards celebrate the best of Pembrokeshire tourism, starting at county level, moving to the regional stage before culminating at the national Visit Wales awards. By attending, you'll support our local tourism industry, network with key players, and celebrate the incredible achievements of our tourism champions.

4. PROJECT DELIVERY

In As well as coordinating delivery of Pembrokeshire's Destination Management Plan ( Link to DMP see above) Visit Pembrokeshire works to identify funding to deliver priority work areas set out in the DMP delivery of works to identify funding potential niches and opportunities and then delivers these as secondary projects. One such example is the Open To All project. Its aim is to make Pembrokeshire an exemplary destination offering great service and facilities to local visitors and visitors tourists with visible and hidden disabilities. The disability market is a sustainable one with recognised growth potential. Currently it’s a huge missed opportunity for organisations that could be benefiting both socially and commercially by making themselves more accessible accessing the disability market. By working together in a more coordinated way, project partners can enjoy increased bookings and make a positive contribution to growing the value and resilience of tourism in Pembrokeshire whilst creating and sustaining jobs.

National Press achieved for our Members

Visit Pembrokeshire works with Four Corners PR to research and pitch Pembrokeshire itineraries to national newspapers and worldwide media outlets. Between September 2023 and June 2024, a total of 10 press releases/news articles in brief have been published alongside 13 press trips being hosted. Titles include Coast Magazine, The Times, The Sunday Times, The Guardian and Sainsbury’s Magazine.

Across all media, we’ve secured coverage of 91 individual pitched pieces. The total advertising equivalent of this coverage achieved £5,186,935 while the reach in terms of potential number of readers (combined circulation of print media and website views) equalled 757,197,932.
